1. One classic date idea is going for a round or two of miniature golf. Mini-golf or Putt Putt, as it is sometimes called is a great way to engage in an invigorating (without being strenuous) activity but still have a solid conversation. Golfing is an intimate enough game that will allow you to get to know each other while not just sitting in a restaurant. Regardless of whether you’re any good at the game or not, flirting over your skills or lack thereof is a great way to lighten things up and get off to a casual start. Just be sure to leave your overly competitive side at home.

2. If you live around a major city, a great date is to go for a night on the town. A downtown area always has plenty of varied activities to do. Whether you’re going in and out of stores, or walking through the park, the environment around you will provide for a great time, and some great memories. The exciting atmosphere of the city will also stimulate lots of creative conversation, and is a great way to learn about each other. You may even do something that’s unique to the city, such as a stage performance, check out the skyline, or go to the art museum.

3. If both of you are the outdoorsy and energetic type, why not try some rock climbing? There is undoubtedly somewhere in your area where you can enjoy a bit of climbing. Exercise is a reliable way to ease some of the tensions that a date early in your relationship might provide. Most communities have commercial climbing venues.

4. Ice skating is always a great date. Ice skating makes for a very fun time, especially if you don’t know how. There’s nothing like holding onto each other to keep from falling over. Being shaky on the ice is a great means to flirt and act cute with one another, and will always (excuse the pun) break the ice when you’re getting to know someone.

Dating really can be an exciting part of being in or starting a new relationship. Creating a social dating environment is important in order to get to know the other person. You might not recall forever that lousy movie you watched, but you’re sure to remember the enjoyment of any of these fun date ideas.
